Morant Bay is a town in southeastern Jamaica. It is the capital of the parish of St. Thomas. In 1865 it was the starting point of the Morant Bay Rebellion, the only major peasant revolt in Jamaican history. It is the birth place of The right Honorable Paul Bogle, and home to the right honorable George William Gordon. Morant Bay, its chief town and capital. ". In the middle of the town stands the morant Bay Market, like any other markets you can get anything there is, from the farm products, crafts and even movies and music.
Morant Bay has most of the amenities for it's residents: She has Three Banks, a Western Union, Post Office, Farm Store, Super Markets, A Park, Villas, Restaurants and a number of hardware and other stores. One of the things that make Morant Bay a true town is it's street vendors. Two of Morant Bay's staple street vendors are Jean and maxine who perch out side of the Nova Scotia bank.
